In 2016, and for the first time since he started racing with NMCA in 2007, Dave had to cut his racing season short at half season due to some personal issues. It was the first year in ten that he was in the Top Five. Most of those issues have been rectified, and he’s focussed on having his best season ever in 2017.
For 2017, it is Dave’s intention to run for the NMCA Championship in the NSS Class by attending all of their races. He’ll run that series in the Texas Whale. The NMCA schedule is:
March 9-12, 2017
15th ANNUAL NMCA MUSCLE CAR MAYHEM • Bradenton Motorsports Park, Bradenton, FL
April 6-9, 2017
9th ANNUAL NMRA/NMCA ALL-STAR NATIONALS • Atlanta Dragway, Commerce GA
May 18-21, 2017
16th ANNUAL NMCA BLUEGRASS NATIONALS • Beech Bend Raceway, Bowling Green, KY. This is also the Dave Duell Classic. Dave’s youngest of five kids will graduate that Thursday Night, so he’ll leave early Tuesday morning to set up his pit Wednesday night, fly home, and fly back early Friday.
July 27-30, 2017
12th ANNUAL NMRA/NMCA SUPER BOWL OF STREET LEGAL DRAG RACING • Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, IL
August 24-27, 2017
16th ANNUAL NMCA ALL AMERICAN MUSCLE SUPERNATIONALS • Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, OH
September 21-24, 2017
16th ANNUAL NMCA WORLD STREET FINALS • Lucas Oil Raceway, Indianapolis, IN
Dave also intends to run all of the SHRA races, which do not otherwise conflict with his schedule. As of this writing, they’ve not released their schedule. He intends competing in the SHRA Series behind the wheel of the Vitamin C.
Finally, Dave will try to race at the NHRA’s Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, KY on Father’s Day Weekend, Assuming there are no other scheduling conflicts.
