MoparStyle Racing, Ltd. is a Texas
Limited Partnership owned by semi-retired businessman and entrepreneur, Dave 'Old
Hippie' Schultz. After decades of the 6AM to 11PM grind as a corporate
executive (and later an owner of quite a few businesses), Dave sold his largest
business for an 8-digit profit, turned over the day-to-day operations of his
other businesses to his minority partners, and decided to spend his time and energy
with his family, and doing the work that most interested him.
Cars, Motorcycles, Drag Racing, and the
Internet are Dave's main interests -- and while he could earn 10 times the
revenue doing something that didn't interest him as much -- that's not what its all
about anymore.

The Race Cars of
MoparStyle Racing
As was stated above, MoparStyle Racing owns a few race cars, and has a
few more in various stages of readiness. Below is a brief description of
the cars, and how they're used. In many cases where you see a image,
clicking it might open up a larger one.
Big Red Ram: Big Red Ram is a 65
Dodge Coronet that Dave runs in NSS, which stands for Nostalgia Super
Stock. The fastest four classes of NSS are AA/FX, A/FX, B/FX, and C/FX.
The there are seven classes of the NSS classes -- A/NSS to G/NSS. Big
Red Ram has a 540ci Diamondback Engines motor and a Jerico 4-speed (one
of the very few running a stick shift in NSS). Dave ran A/NSS in 2005
and C/FX in 2006 and 2007. For 2008 Big Red Ram will have a 580ci
Diamondback Engines motor -- and hopes to run in AA/FX and be the
fastest car in NSS Racing. You get get more details on Big Red Ram at
www.BigRedRam.com
and more information on NSS at
www.NSS-Monster.com.
el Demonio Rojo (the Red Demon): Back in 2003, when
Dave owned the Texas Big Bird (the 230mph Superbird ProMod in the banner
at the top of the page) his 15-year-old son Dallas asked Dave if he good
get into drag racing. Conditions were set and a deal agreed to, and a
1972 Dodge Demon was purchased and built to race in a class just below
NSS, called NMC -- or Nostalgia Muscle Car. He wont the Texas Outsider
Points Championship in 2004 at 16. We tore the car down over the winter
and rebuilt it with a stronger/faster driver train and changed the color
from white to red. He again won the Points Championship in 2005. He
missed 1/3 of the races in 2006 and came in second. Dallas didn't race
competitively in 2007 -- but the car is about to get an even more
powerful motor and Dallas will make all of the NMCA National points
races for 2008. The web site for more information on the car is
www.eldemoniorojo.com.
Texas Black Magic: This 1965 Dodge
Coronet was my NSS car during the two + years it took to build Big Red
Ram. It was then retired to local track Bracket Racing duty. It has a
fresh engine in it for local bracket racing, and for Dallas to get more
experience in 9-second quarter mile passes. He may race it in NSS in
2009, or it may be retired or sold.
1967 Barracuda: This tube chassis
car was an 8-second car that was street legal (mufflers, street slicks,
turn signals, pump gas (plus a lot of NOS) etc) and ran in a Street
Legal class.
CLICK HERE to see it. The front clip, doors, and deck lid are
fiberglass; and the windows Lexan. It is currently being torn down and
cleaned. It will be painted red and reassembled with a small block
Diamondback Engines race engine and transmission. Dallas will get some
seat time in it in 2008 and decide if he will race the black Coronet in
NSS or this Barracuda in Super Pro for 2009.
Mz Eliminator:
This 1978 Dodge Aspen was built for Dave's eldest daughter Danielle to
race in NMC. School, work, then marriage kept her from competing in it.
Dave has run it in a couple of NMC events -- ad the car is currently for
sale.
60 Plymouth 2-Door Wagon: This car
is currently in a race shop patiently waiting its turn to be completed
so it can be finished as the Koolest Nostalgia Super Stock to ever hit
the tarmac.
