Here's our Motivation for 2009, the NMCA Championship Ring
We, my son Dallas Schultz and I, are racing in the Nostalgia Muscle Car Association — more commonly known as the NMCA.
There are seven races this year for the Championship. Bradenton, FL.; Bowling Green, KY; Maple Grove, PA; Joliet, IL; Milan, MI; Charlotte, NC; and Memphis, TN. You earn points for how well you qualify, and how well you placed in Eliminations. After the 4th race, points are recalculated (to close up the field from a run-away) for the last three races — push to the Championship. The 2nd through 9th place get a nice leather "Varsity" type of jacket, and the Number 1 gets the above ring. I got a jacket for forth last year — and sure would like a ring this year.
Last season was my first season running in NMCA — and as I said, I placed 4th in Nostalgia Super Stock. This year Dallas is also racing in the Nostalgia Muscle Car Class — and I'll again be racing in the Nostalgia Super Stock Class. Additionally, we run in other local, regional, and national races.
Dallas runs el Demonio Rojo, a 1972 Dodge Demon with a powerful 408ci small block, capable of propelling the car to mid 10-second quarter mile times on all motor.
