Black Magic

Texas Black Magic is a
65 Coronet that was a Street racer with an aluminum headed, dual
Holley 383; 4-speed transmission; and 8 3/4" Suregrip with
4.88s.
It was
taken to
Texas Thunder
where it was back-halved using a coil-over
4-link and Ford 9"; and the 451 motor and trans-brake 727 came
from the
Red Coronet.
Texas Black Magic is an air-shifted bracket racer
that runs high tens and low 11s in this configuration. However,
we
recently bought an Indy 540 motor and had
Cope Racing Transmissions built
their strongest Pro-Race
II
transmission for a drive-train swap that will happen at the end of
the 2004 racing season. It should be running 8s with that
